“Diversity is being invited to the dance. Inclusion is being asked to Dance. Equity is allowing you to choose the Music.”
― Cynthia Olmedo
Inspired by the tradition, history, and community of mutual aid, we wanted to create a mutual aid group with the purpose of providing specific support to immigrants in the D.C. area. Our hope is to stand in solidarity with our local immigrant population by undertaking various "odd jobs" that may be time-consuming and challenging to fit into busy schedules, all at no cost. We do jobs such as babysitting, tutoring, or running errands, but are willing to help wherever needed.
Through our school's community, we have created a vast network of passionate students from various backgrounds who have joined our initiative. In addition to having previous volunteer experience, many of us speak other languages, primarily Spanish.
